Surya vs Surya Movie Review
'Surya Vs Surya' is the story of Surya (Nikhil) suffering from a rare genetic disorder called 'Porphyria' which means he is allergic to sunrays and stepping out in Day light is nothing but risking his life. One fine day, Surya meets TV Journo Sanjana (Tridha) and love bloosoms between the two. Unfortunately, Sanjana breaks up with Surya soon after knowing about his disease. This development eventually prompts Surya to go to any extent to get back the lost love. Is he successful in his attempt or pays the price?
Nikhil is only getting better with every movie. He lost 10 kgs of weight for the role of Surya and completely altered his body language. He gives yet another matured performance and an asset to the movie.
Tridha as TV Journo and Love Interest of Surya does a decent job. Madubala as Nikhil's Mom is believable. Tanikella Bharani and Sathya played key roles and provide the much needed comedy relief. Shayazi Shinde, Rajesh and Others are adequate.
- Camera Work
- First Half
- Love Angle
- Slow Pace
- Second Half
Director Karthik Ghattamaneni's Concept is highly impressive but succeeds partially in execution. After a point, Everything goes haywire and the inexperience of the filmmaker is to be blamed for it.
Music by Satya Deva is refreshing. Cinematography is laudable and deserves a special mention as most of the scenes were shot at Nights. Dialogues are just about okay. Editing is fine. Production Values are appreciable.
'Surya Vs Surya' has got a pretty decent First Half and below par Second Half. Interesting Concept, Nikhil's Performance, Tanikella-Satya's Comedy and Music are the positives. On the other hand, Screenplay in Second Half, Poor Handling of Love Track and Lethargic Pace are a big letdown.
Box Office: 'Surya Vs Surya' released in around 450 screens across the World. It is expected to do reasonably well in A Centres and Multiplexes.
Verdict: SURYA comes with Few Defects!
