Sikandar (Anjaan) Movie Review
Krishna (Suriya) comes to Mumbai in search of his Brother (Raju Bhai). He bumps into Raju Bhai's Gangster friends and enquires about the Don. Here, The flashback scenes of Raju Bhai were narrated from his friends point of view. Will Krishna end up successful in his mission? Where is Raju Bhai and what happened to him? The rest of the story is about finding answers to these questions and the real motto behind Krishna's arrival to Mumbai.
Suriya: He looks stylish and succeeded in showing good variations in the two roles (Raju Bhai, Raju Bhai's Brother) he played. He has put in his honest efforts to carry a film which has got poorly written script on his shoulders.
Samantha: She tries to keep the audience interested in the proceedings with her cute smile, bubbly character and glamour.
Vidyut Jamawal: He plays the role of protagonist's friend and his partner-in-crime in the film. He is just okay!
Manoj Bajpai does a fine job. Rest of the Villains hardly look menacing on the screen. Brahmi's comedy track and Chitrangda's item number are passable.
- Samantha's screen presence & glamour.
- Pre-Interval Fight
- Too Lengthly (170 Minutes)
- Placement of Songs
Sikindar' which was supposed to be a breezy stylish entertainer ends up as half-baked Don tale. The film has got everything from a star hero to glamour to twists & turns to ace technicians to lavish budget, except an engaging screenplay which matters the most to hit the right chord with the audience.
Lingusamy has delivered some of highly impressive films like 'Run', 'Pandem Kodi' and 'Awara' in the past. His latest offering 'Sikindar' is no where close to those successful films. Poor Writing has completely let down the film and an actor of Suriya's stature deserves a much better script.
Few songs of Yuvan Shankar Raja's are good and background score is just okay. Santhosh Sivan's cinematography is colorful and he never disappoints. Fights by Silva are nice, especially the action part in pre-interval episode. Production values are good.
'Sikindar' is surely Suriya's worst film in the recent past. So, it will be a big surprise if its not a disaster at the Box Office!
Verdict: Not Worth Your Time & Money!
