Movie Review - Patashala
Five Friends namely Raju (Nandu), Suriya (Shiva), Aadhi (Sai Kiran), Salma (Sirisha) and Sandhya (Anu Priya) plan a road trip to each other's native places wishing they gain something from the experience. How this tour changed their lives forever forms the rest of the story.
Among the cast, Nandu, Sirisha and Shashank who played a key role stand out as the best. Especially, Nandu who is the only known face among the 5 leads provide the much needed relief in the movie with his comedy. Rest of the actors have been adequate.
- New Genre Film
- First Half
- Run Time ( 2hr 8 min)
- Second Half
- Lack of enough Commercial Elements
Mahi V Raghav who worked as writer for Vinayakudu and tested his luck as Producer for films Village Lo Vinayakudu and Kudirithe Cup Coffee has turned director with 'Paathshala'. The best part is that he decided to make a full-length road trip movie which is a first of its kind in Tollywood. He has done a decent job given the fact he is a Debutante and leaves an impression on youth with his product by covering the aspects like friendship bond, aspirations of youngsters and harsh reality in their lives.
Rahul Raj's songs were pleasant and background score is in tune with the mood of the film. Cinematography is the major highlight in the movie. Dialogues connect with present day youth. Editing could have been better in Second Half. Production Values were appreciable.
After an entertaining First Half, 'Paathshala' slows down a bit in the second half which is high on sentiment. Still, Makers deserve appreciation for coming up with a product which is unique in its own way.
At Box Office, Success of 'Paatasala' depends on how well city youth and multiplex audience have embraced it!
Verdict: Decent Enough!
