Janda Pai Kapiraju Movie Review
Aravind (Nani), an IT Professional, lives by certain principles and he is against paying bribes which is a practise that everyone look at it as very normal in the day to day life. In the process of fighting against corruption, He gets into the wrong books of some influential people in the society and ends up landing in all sorts of trouble. How he manages to overcome them forms the crux of the story!
Nani showed good variations in the dual roles he played for the first time in his career. He just breaths life into the role of a spirited youngster who can't tolerate the corrupt practices in the society. He emotes very well in intense scenes and delivers the power-packed dialogues effortlessly. On the other hand, Nani equally shines in the other character which demands him to be flamboyant and extravagance.
Amala Paul delivers what was expected from her in terms of performance but the necessary glam quotient is missing. Ragini Dwivedi sizzles in a mass number. Sharath Kumar as CBI Officer is first rate. Vennela Kishore evokes laughter with his typical comic timing. Nassar, Chandramohan, Tanikella, Dhanraj, Ahuti Prasad and Others does justice to their roles.
- Nani's Performance
- First Half
- Predictable at times & Too Preachy
Director Samuthirakani (Sambho Siva Sambho fame) is a master at delivering compelling social dramas laced with a nice message. He, however, isn't up to the mark with 'Jenda Pai Kapiraju' even though the intention to voice for a change in the society deserves a special mention.
GV Prakash's Songs were a letdown and BGM is loud at times. Cinematography is okayish. Dialogues pack a punch. Editing should have been crisp in the latter half. Production Values are adequate.
'Jenda Pai Kapiraju' is a social drama made with good intent. The First Half of the film hits the right chord, but the Second Half is spoiler and ends on a poor note. After a point, The Film becomes predictable, lack of logic in few crucial scenes and getting too preachy works against it. Unnecessary songs and poor VFX in action scenes were the other negative aspects.
Message Delivered - 'Only the Powerful & Cunning will get to grow in our Corrupt Society - Situation improves only if the change happens within a Person'. 'Jenda Pai Kapiraju' has its moments and audience could give it a try if they have nothing much to do this weekend.
Box Office: The Box Office prospects 'Jenda Pai Kapiraju' doesn't look encouraging at the moment. It has got a limited release and may make its presence felt in the mass circuits in the opening weekend. Low Expectations could be an advantage but will this factor turn it into a successful film.
Verdict: A One-Time Watchable Social Drama!
