Chandrakala Movie Review
A family plans to sell their Ancestral Palace in the Village. Soon after they reach their native place, Maya (Lakshmi Rai), Madhavi (Andrea) and Wife of the Heir (Vinay Rai) happens to witness strange developments in the Palace. Very soon, The Family realises that the Palace is haunted by a evil ghost. Who is that Ghost? What happens to the Family? Know more about the movie in the theaters!
Hansika: She plays a village belle in the flashback and powerful role of a ghost in present. This Apple Pie Beauty scores brownie points with her glamour and performance.
Andrea steals the show in Climax block. Lakshmi Rai has done justice to her role. Santhanam, Sundar C and Rest of the Actors have been decent enough.
- Andrea's Performance
- Predictable Second Half
- Lacks of enough laughable and scary moments
Director Sundar C (Actress Khushboo's Husband, Something Something Fame) is known for his comedy entertainers. For a change, He choose a Horror Comedy this time! 'Chandrakala' is the dubbed version of Tamil hit 'Aranmanai'. This film worked in Tamil mainly because of Hansika who enjoy immense fan following in the Lungi Land. But, Its a different case in Telugu! Tamil Flavour, Stale Comedy and Not-so-appealing Scary scenes play the spoilsport.
Songs act as speed-breakers in the movie. Cinematography is appreciable. Dialogues are fine. Editing is okay. Art Work for the Palace is impressive. Visual Effects were pretty good. Production Values are grand.
Box Office: Luckily 'Chandrakala' has no competition what-so-ever from any of the straight Telugu releases this week. Still, Survival is going to be tough for this thriller.
Verdict: Neither Scares Nor Entertains!
