Anekudu Movie Review
'Anekudu' is an usual story of a Couple (Ashwin & Madhu - Played by Dhanush and Amyra Dastur) based on the 'Reincarnation' concept. Not just one but this Couple have altogether 3 past lives set in different eras and they gets separated in all of them.
The film opens in Burma (1960s) to unveil the love story of Murugan, a construction worker, and Samudra who happens to be the daughter of Burmese Army General. Interestingly, The events that led to their separation repeats thrice (Dhanush & Amyra as Kali & Kalyani, as King & Princess and also as Ashwin & Madhu) across different eras. Will the Couple be able to change their fortune at least in the present?
Dhanush who is one of the finest actors of Indian Cinema plays all the three roles to perfection and showed ample variations for each one of them. Amyra Dastur looks beautiful and performs very well. This supremely talented debutante has got the potential make it big in the Tinsel Town.
Yesteryear Lover Boy Karthik plays the role of a Gaming Company Owner who manipulates his Employees in the movie. He is just took good in whatever he does! Rest of cast has done justice to their roles.
- Lead Pair
- Limited Reach
Director KV Anand has got the reputation of someone who doesn't rely on rehash of usual plots for Box Office success. After delivering films like 'Veedokkade', 'Rangam' and 'Brothers', This Ace Cinematographer-turned-Filmmaker picked up a story set in different eras for offering a new experience to the movie buffs.
Harris Jayaraj's songs are just okay but his Background Score is fabulous. Om Prakash's Cinematography is flawless, especially the Episodes of Burma of the 60s. Antony's Editing is crisp. Dialogues have been well written. Production Values are grand.
Dhanush-Amyra Dastur's compelling performances, 'Reincarnation' Concept, Well-written Screenplay and High Technical Values are the strengths of 'Anegan'. The concept of multiple Eras might be a bit confusing for a normal moviegoer.
Box Office: 'Anekudu' screen count in Telugu States is hardly around 200. This Dhanush-starrer might have a decent opening and its too early to predict the end result!
Verdict: A Good Attempt!
